Great stuff Jiyul, thanks a lot. I urge all those for whom the plugin doesn't work to try that one. I'm not developping or supporting these old plugins anymore, so it's great to see that somebody has finally decided to rewrite and improve one!

Hi, great script, great idea... but has anybody still solved the problem, that only the admin-profil is shown? On the pages of the other authors the script only displays a list of their articles... PS: I still use WP 1.2.2 (too much trouble with updateing my over-customized system ;-)))

Good plugin, thx. My Firefox didnt show the image. After some minutes I have seen that you wrote background:url(/wp-images/ext-link.png) right top no-repeat; but it must be background:url('/wp-images/ext-link.png') right top no-repeat; Isnt it so? Or am I wrong? After that it worked.

Le blog du vend�e globe a l'air sympa. Ton id�e me semble int�ressante, je crois que ca a d�ja �t� fait en Anglais, et franchement, je sais pas si un blog collectif est la meilleure mani�re de le faire. Le probl�me, c'est que ces infos viennent du journal, magazine, d'autres sites web, et qu'elles sont paraphras�es dans un style de qualit� souvent inf�rieur a celui d'un journaliste professionnel. En g�n�ral, mieux vaut remonter la source (comuniqu�s de presse, etc...) si la personne qui r�dige n'apporte pas un petit plus. Mais mon avis, si tu te sens capable d'�diter les articles qui en ont besoin , c'est tout fait possible.

Christopher and roland, Yes the problem is that this plugin was designed for WP 1.2, and I'm not surprised it doesn't work with 1.5. You can try one thing, though, and that is change all the $author_name variables to $author_page or whatever in the plugin file and in the .htaccess (if you have one). I don't guarantee anything, but it's worth giving it a try.

Thanks for the kind words. RSS is fairly simple, but for some reason I just can't get Atom to work... Ah well maybe another day... Oh by the way, what do you think about the captcha? I know it's far from ideal, but if it allows comments to be posted immediately and stops spam, why not?

hi, very nice plug, but I have a lot of problems with other function. for example my PDF plug says Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/27/d108829608/htdocs/beta/wp-content/plugins/autor.php:248) in /homepages/27/d108829608/htdocs/beta/wp2pdf/wp2pdf.php on line 389 there are also problem in the admin area (change templates) etc.

Hey, I like your plugin :) I noticed though that it has a hard time recognising links with filename.php?some=value although I can't figure out why because the regexp should handle them too... maybe the error's at my end, but have you or someone else come across the same thing? I have a problem similar to the one Antti Lev�saari experienced: 1. I put the stylesheet_chooser.php file in my wp-content/plugins directory and it is Activated on my WordPress Plugins page. 2. my stylesheets are in the /styles folder (they are named no-style.css, default.css and new.css). 3. I INSERT style_link(false) between the Head tags of my Index.php page. 4. I INSERT style_chooser() in the Body of my page. I have instituted the StatTraq extensions for user using Permalinks (Me). I was wondering if you have ever modded STatTraq or any other tool so that it will display the post names and number of hits. Hi, it's because when you call the popular_posts(string,int) function , you have to replace 'int' and 'string' by the number of posts you want to show and the format you want to show them in, respectively. That should do the trick.

if I click on /index.php?author_name=admin the plugin works fine. if I click on other authors names I receive back their posts. I tried to change post names with other different form the login one (as oleg seems to soggest), but it doesn't work :(

SOlved the problem. It was that you cannot have your login name as your post name or something. I just use anything but "Oleg" (even tried non caps) and it works fine. Weird bug. Thanks.

No, in your .htacces, you only need this one line: RewriteRule ^author/?(.)/? /index.php?author_name=$1 [QSA] and then the link to the author page is author/admin or author/sk8er_boy111200 or author/mylogin, where mylogin is your login name (the one you type to enter the admin interface). You can get it with the the_author_login() template tag.

Anywhere above the style_link() function call is fine. If you have to css file named wp-layout.css and wp-layout2.css in the same directory as your index.php file, the array definition would look like this : $styles=array("wp-layout","wp-layout2"); Hope this helps.

Hi Lee, You have to put an if condition like this :

That will display the referrers only if a single post is shown.

lee, it sounds like you have the "related posts" bit in the wrong place... Look for the part that says something like "if comments or single" - put it in that section, not on the front page. Sorry - don't have the templates memorized, but dig around and you'll see it.

In fact, using $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] didn't work at all for me, so I used get_bloginfo('url'), which gives the correct url in all cases.

now i have another small problem: i have to change style twice in order to see it applied. the weird thing is that on my server at home i just need to switch once, while on my provider's one i have to do it twice. Maybe an issue with different versions of php? i haven't had the time to check the code again to see if i can fix this. anyone else had the same problem?

The style chooser only works when you have cookies enabled. I always have cookies disabled in Firefox, with exceptions for a couple of sites. I don't know if there is a workaround possible so this works without the use of cookies, but that might be preferable to this solution if it works in all situations.
